Deer & Deer Hunting Magazine was born in 1977, a by-product of the Stump Sitters Whitetail Study Group. It was founded by Jack Brauer and Al Hofacker, two ultra-serious whitetail hunters from the Upper Midwest. The magazine built its reputation on editorial quality and integrity.
D&DH was not the product of a grandiose plan developed by a publishing house for a group of investors. Rather, the magazine evolved day-by-day, month-by-month and year-by-year under the direction of white-tailed deer hunters eager to acquire comprehensive and practical information about white-tailed deer and deer hunting techniques — the type of editorial no one else was publishing for deer hunters.
Today, D&DH possesses a mystique unlike any other outdoors magazine. Avid readers not only devour every printed word, many of them save every issue. It’s that type of devotion that prods the magazine’s staff to constantly strive to make each issue better than the previous one.
In 2005, we took that same mission statement and launched Deer & Deer Hunting Television. This July, we will roll out Season 4 of this fan-favorite show on Versus Country.
With our recent re-launch of deeranddeerhunting.com, we have made it our goal to develop this Web site to present the same high-quality content that you have become accustomed to seeing in the printed product.
We know you’d expect — and certainly deserve — nothing less.
