If you’re getting antsy for deer season to get here, the June issue of Deer & Deer Hunting magazine will be arriving soon with some of the best hunting gear of the year.
Fifty items have been selected by Deer & Deer Hunting editors and contributing writers from the annual Archery Trade Association and Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade shows held in January. These range from tree stands, boots, apparel and accessories to guns, ammo, bows and arrows, all designed for deer and deer hunting enthusiasts!
The magazine starts shipping to subscribers Tuesday, and will be on newsstands April 4.
Other features you’ll find in the June issue include:
— Dan Schmidt’s “Editor’s Stump” asking the question, “Have we lost our way?”
“Sure, we all love to daydream about shooting that buck of a lifetime. We buy new gear — bows, arrows, guns, cartridges, tree stands and trail cameras — in hopes of giving ourselves an edge in accomplishing these goals. But how many of us draw a line in the the sand and decide that enough is enough during the course of deer season?”
It’s a thought-provoking editorial opinion, and Schmidt is eager to hear from readers with their thoughts.
— Endless Acres of Free Hunting: National Wildlife Refuges across the country provide great opportunities for deer hunters as managers strive to find a balance between conservation, wildlife management and hunters’ desires.
—The Smartest Deer In The Woods? Is it a wary, old buck? An adult doe? A doe with fawns or yearlings? Is one smarter than the other? The answer might just surprise you.
— Top Gun: In Search of Deer Hunting’s Best All-Around Caliber, which has been a question of debate in deer camps and outdoors stores for years. (It may never be answered, either!)
— How an Iowa teenager scored the biggest buck of his young hunting career, with a muzzleloader!
— Country music star Craig Morgan, a diehard outdoorsman, is featured in “I’m A Deer Hunter” and discusses his love of hunting and being on the road.
You’ll find these features and much more soon in Deer & Deer Hunting! Look for it in your mailbox soon and on retail store racks April 4.
