David Cooper Reacts to Sweepstakes Win

by Ben Sobieck, online editor

“To say I was elated is an understatement.”

Tennessee hunter David Cooper recalled winning Deer & Deer Hunting 10 Reezens to Win Sweepstakes as the first time he won anything. A January drawing from more than 20,000 entries broke that streak.

As winner, Cooper received a Mathews Reezen bow and a hunting adventure with Sugar Creek Outfitters in Illinois. Sharing in the excitement were six others who entered with Cooper. They also received Reezen bows.

“It’s a dream come true,” said Cooper.

He will hunt with Sugar Creek Outfitters later this year. The trip will mark the first time Cooper will travel out of Tennessee for a hunt. He said he normally sticks to the eastern part of the state, where he’s bow-hunted for 14 years.

Until then, Cooper said he may hunt turkeys with the Reezen, among other species.

He’ll also keep up with Deer & Deer Hunting, which he’s subscribed to for the second time. Cooper’s favorite writers are Charlie Alsheimer and Rev. Zeke Pipher.

Above all, Cooper said he is grateful to win the sweepstakes.

“I just wanted to give a big thanks to D&DH, F&W Media, Promotion Mechanics, Mathews, Sugar Creek Outfitters, Nikon, Heater Body Suit and anyone else who made this possible,” Cooper wrote on the deeranddeerhunting.com forum.

“Also, a BIG thanks and congrats to my friends. I hope you all enjoy the new bow.”
