A wild-eyed buck that burst through a window of a Wisconsin church put a fright into several witnesses, wreaked havoc in the library and then met his maker.
The buck apparently leaned against an outside window and burst through it, falling into the basement library of the Bethel Baptist Church. Once inside, it freaked out and started knocking over shelves of books, bleeding on them and scaring church members there, some with small children.
“Parents were picking up kids from Sunday school, teachers were in the classrooms. It could have been a lot worse, so we just praise God that it wasn’t,” said Andrew Moffitt, the church’s youth pastor, in this report.
The buck eventually was tranquilized by a dart shot by a wildlife officer, and then euthanized due to its injuries. The church library sustained extensive damage.
Janesville is the home of U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, the 2012 candidate for Vice President on the ticket with Mitt Romney.
