Mathews’ Hot New Bows for 2014: Creed XS, Chill R

After months of waiting and some last-minute promo over the weekend to get fans and hunters stoked, Mathews has revealed two new compound bows for its 2014 lineup – the Creed XS and Chill R.

The Creed XS has a compact profile, weighing 3.80 pounds on a 28-inch axle-to-axle frame. It’s powered by the Mathews SimPlex single cam system. Mathews testing indicates it’s quieter and smoother than the Creed, which was a hit in 2013.

Brace Height: 7 1/2 inches
Draw Weight: 50, 60 and 70 pounds
Bow Weight: 3.80 approximate (with Dead End and HS Lite)
Let-off: 80 percent
Draw Lengths: 26-30 inches
Half Sizes: 26.5-29.5 inches
String/Cable: String:  88.5 inches, Cable: 30.875 inches
Riser Length: 24.58 inches
Cams: SimPlex™ Cam
IBO Rating: Up to 321 fpsAxle-to-Axle: 28 inches

Also new for 2014 is the Monster Chill R, part of the McPherson Series bows. With its AVS DYAD cam system to help with a smooth draw and reduced vibration, the Chill R should offer quiet speed with deadly accuracy for hunters and competitive shooters.
