James Yoder can consider himself a lucky man even if he has a bruised ego from an unforgettable hunting experience. The 63 year old from Johnstown, Pa. was found by an off-duty fireman dangling upside down from a tree.
According to the Indiana Gazette, his legs had gotten caught up in a broken tree stand. Yoder’s hunting partner held his head upright the best he could for an hour as the two continually yelled for help. If it wasn’t for Yoder’s hunting partner, he could have died.
Luckily the fireman lived near and heard the two yelling and dialed 911. Yoder was sent to a local hospital and was treated for minor injuries.
Brush Valley Assistant Chief Al Pluchinsky told local news outlets that the deer stand broke.
