Foodie Friday: Al’s Best Venison Sandwich

This is a favorite recipe from a D&DH reader, Al Higgins, and obviously is easy to make for a quick, flavorful lunch.

Sounds like a good one to wrap up in foil and take to the stand for a mid-hunt snack, too!

Al’s Best Venison Sandwich

1 lb venison loin
3 Tbsp Jamaican jerk sauce
1 large white onion
1 Tbsp mayo
1 Tbsp olive oil
Hard rolls

Spread jerk sauce on both sides of the venison and place the venison on a hot grill. While the venison is cooking, about three minutes per side, saute the sliced onion in olive oil until translucent. After turning the venison, place the halved rolls on the grill. Toast until golden brown. Spread mayo on the roll, the slices of venison and the onions. Salt and pepper to taste.
