Crossbows are great tools for deer hunters because they’re effective, lethal and fun to shoot, with better technology today thanks to improved materials and engineering.
Crossbows also can extend a hunter’s opportunities throughout the autumn hunting seasons thanks to more states changing regulations and requirements. Years ago, Arkansas and Ohio were among the only states that had full seasons for crossbow hunters. Other states required “medical exemptions” from doctors, and some still do. But most states now allow crossbows in all seasons including previous “archery only” seasons, or have other specific seasons for crossbow hunters.
The addition of the crossbow, which is nothing more than a tool for hunters to use, hasn’t ruined deer populations or created waves of poachers, either. Jake Miller of TenPoint Crossbow Technologies discusses some of these topics in this crossbow hunting tip.
