Michigan wildlife officials will open more deer management units to antlerless deer hunting this fall.
The Michigan Natural Resources Commission decided to allow more DMUs in the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula to offer antlerless hunting because of increased deer populations.
A list of open deer management units and their hunting quotas will be published soon in the 2012 Antlerless Deer Hunting Digest.
Antlerless deer license applications go on sale July 15. The Department of Natural Resources says special statewide hunts for youth and disabled veterans will be held Sept. 22-23
