D&DH Publisher Brad Rucks scored again while hunting on film for the D&DH TV show.
Hunting in Illinois with Sugar Creek Outfitters, Brad downed a beautiful 140-class
8-pointer on Friday, Oct. 2.

The hunt was the long-awaited “10 Reezens to Win” Sweepstakes that we publicized in
the magazine in 2009. The winner of the sweepstakes, David Cooper of Tennessee, also
enjoyed a fantastic pre-rut hunt. Although David did not take home a deer, he had
several close encounters, including one on a 160-class buck the last evening of the
hunt.

Brad and cameraman Jay Ellioff happened to draw the lucky stand on Friday afternoon.
After watching several does, fawns and young bucks appear and feed in a nearby food
plot, a fully mature 8-point stepped out from the woods. The buck spied a 2-1/2 year
old buck near Brad’s stand and immediately went into aggressive mode. The buck laid
his ears back and sidled within 40 yards of the stand. Brad made good on a 43-yard
shot with his Mathews Z-7, Carbon Express arrow and Rage 2-blade broadhead. The deer
ran just 35 yards before collapsing. Check back later this week at www.dh.tv for a
video clip of this exciting hunt.
