The director of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks has resigned to take over the state agency’s Conservation program.
Ed Penney will transition into his new role on May 1 as director of the agency’s Conservation programs. He announced the move in an e-mail to agency employees and friends.
Chad Dacus, currently the MDWFP assistant chief of wildlife, will be the new director. He has served as the agency’s deer coordinator and helped Mississippi’s deer populations thrive under his direction.
