Mobility Yields 160-Class Louisiana Buck!

Chris Otwell of Louisiana used a combination of impatience, hunting skills and his crossbow to take a magnificent 160-class Louisiana slammer this week!

As recounted in this Louisiana Sportsman report, Otwell was hunting Nov. 12 on about 80 acres and decided to hit the ground after his climbing stand didn’t offer a great view over some thick planted pines. He moved a few more times to ground stands before settling on a spot that suited him.

That obviously was a great decision! In short order, the Lincoln Parish hunter had a 14-point buck within range of his Stryker II crossbow.

“It all happened so quick, I didn’t have time to get excited,” he told Louisiana Sportsman.

The buck was a mainframe 10 with some kickers. Great buck!
