It’s been said quite often that hunting is something for anyone, regardless of age or gender, and Mary Hundley is clear proof of that.
The Texas native turned 100 in October and still enjoys getting out into a stand for a hunt. According to this cool story in Lone Star Outdoor News, Hundley gets some assistance from her grandson and son but hasn’t let her age stop her from hunting.
“She shoots a nice deer every year,” Robert Hundley III, Mary’s grandson, told Lone Star Outdoor News. “We all grew up hunting on our deer lease. My uncle manages a ranch between Batesville and La Pryor, so we went out there last Tuesday.”
Her most recent buck was a great 8-point that weighed 163 pounds. She dropped it with her .243 and plans to go again this season.
Sounds like Hundley and Katie Watson of South Carolina need to get teamed up for a combo hunt somewhere! Congrats to both of them!
