Deer Hunting On An Island? Wet, Cold and Unique, Only On Destination Whitetail

Destination Whitetail begins its second season tonight with a unique deer hunting trip on some cold, windswept islands at Lake of the Woods in Minnesota.

None of this waking up early, getting dressed and silently walking to a stand in the woods. No climbing, no ladders, no settling in nicely for a bit and then keeping your eyes open for a buck or doe slipping through past you in the stand.

DESTINATION WHITETAIL LOGOeThe Beckel family has been guiding hunters and anglers on Lake of the Woods for more than 50 years. Hunting is a generational thing for them, passed on with a love and respect of the white-tailed deer they pursue and the habitat in which those deer live. Their hunting strategies and traditions are part of the great fabric that helps make deer hunting so great!

Destination Whitetail airs on the Sportsman Channel each Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. EST and 11:30 p.m. EST, and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. EST.

Some other shows this year include a hunt for velvet bucks in steamy South Carolina, removing a ornery buck in a hunting preserve, and the photography career of Charles Alsheimer. The shows not only highlight the majestic whitetail, but also local hunters and the flavor of their communities.

Destination Whitetail is hosted by Lauren Rich, and features Rich along with the editors and staff of Deer & Deer Hunting on the hunts. With bow, gun and crossbows, the staff has decades of combined experience pursuing white-tailed deer throughout the country.

Pursuit Channel will relocate to an improved channel location on DISH after July 10, according to Rusty Faulk, CEO and founder of the Pursuit Channel.

Pursuit Channel will transition to channel 393 on DISH, which is the first of a group of outdoor-related channels in the on-screen program guide. DISH is now simulcasting Pursuit Channel for a two-week period while using its on-screen guide to direct customers from channel 240 to Pursuit Channel’s new home on channel 393.

Pursuit Channel will continue to be available to the more than 14 million DISH customers in the United States.

“Aggregating Pursuit Channel with DISH’s other outdoor channels is very strategic,” said Faulk. “Our ratings are expected to continue to strengthen with this re-alignment on DISH while making it more convenient for the growing number passionate outdoor enthusiasts to find their favorite outdoor channel in the on-screen guide.”
