Casey Young was intent on getting in an afternoon bow hunt and then saw his time dwindling minute by minute with one memory lapse after another.
As told in this Louisiana Sportsman recap, the funeral home director forgot his possibles bag and remembered it was in the truck after he’d gotten about halfway to his stand. Then he got back and realized he’d forgotten his bow release.
By this time, many hunters would have just called it quits for the day. Two trips and a late entry to the stand? Naaa, too much noise, most likely.
Young didn’t think that way. Instead, he hunted the final bit of time available and shot a great buck that scored 205-plus that weighed 293 pounds. What a whopper for the Pelican State!
