The best hunting arrow is the one that shoots best out of your particular setup. The key is matching the arrow to your bow, poundage and shooting style. Previously, hunters had to worry about an arrow’s overall weight. This isn’t necessarily true today, especially with the way modern hunting arrows are being constructed.

If you’re younger than 35, you probably have never shot anything other than a carbon arrow from your compound bow. And you probably aren’t old enough to remember the big debate among bowhunters: carbon or aluminum? Sigh. I just gave away my age, didn’t I?
Yes, today’s bowhunters are a bit spoiled when it comes to technology. All of these great improvements that we’ve seen to the pastime in the last 10 years or so have been a godsend for improved accuracy, longer shooting distances and, ultimately, more venison in the freezer.
A good case in point is the Maxima RED arrows that I’ve been shooting these past few archery seasons. Carbon Express had long been known for quality arrows, but the Maxima RED took things up a notch. This particular shaft has so much technology built into it that I can’t do it justice in a mere blog post. All I can say is that once I started shooting them, my accuracy improved and my arrow groups shrunk.
The key to these shafts is something called Dynamic Spine Control. In short, DSC is a patented hi-tech carbon material construction that manages dynamic spine in a new way to make broadheads fly better.
In other news from Carbon Express, I just received this breaking-news alert from the company. It’s an interesting development that will no doubt turn the heads of many modern bowhunters in 2015:
Flushing, Mich. — Carbon Express is pleased to introduce the all-new Maxima® BLU™ RZ hunting arrow into its industry-leading lineup of archery products. The speed and accuracy of the innovative Maxima BLU RZ is poised to set a new standard for hunting arrow performance.
This arrow combines the same world class speed and accuracy of the Maxima Blue Streak® with the breakthrough broadhead accuracy of the popular Maxima RED®. The result of this combination is a new, lightweight hunting arrow that shoots broadheads better than anything the bowhunting market has seen.
The Maxima BLU RZ is made with Carbon Express’ proprietary Diamond Weave™ carbon material, and features a hi-tech carbon shaft designed with stiffer ends that isolate the arrow’s flex in the middle of the shaft, which has become known as the RED ZONE®. Testing shows that the new BLU RZ with RED ZONE® technology flies broadheads equally as well as field points. This arrow will have hunters dialed in from distances that couldn’t be confidently executed in the past.
Not only is the BLU RZ an excellent choice for bowhunters that shoot longer distances, but its breakthrough mechanical broadhead accuracy makes this arrow a must for bowhunters who prefer expandable broadheads. The field point groupings that are achieved by the BLU RZ are unlike any other hunting arrow in the Carbon Express family, making the arrow a proven option for bowhunters who also shoot 3D. If you’re looking to pull lighter draw weights, the arrow is able to attain maximum kinetic energy and accuracy without the heavy pull needed in most arrows. Now is the time to upgrade to the Maxima® BLU™ RZ for ultimate broadhead performance and accuracy.
