Wisconsin: No Doe Hunting in 2014?

Deer hunters in the northern one-third of Wisconsin will likely not be able to shoot antlerless deer this fall, due to the effects of the brutal winters of 2013 and 2014.

The Wisconsin DNR is recommending no doe hunting for most of the northern one-third of the state. According to reports, more than 40 percent of last year’s fawns in that area perished this winter due to exposure, starvation and/or predation.
