Happy ThanXgiving everyday, world! That’s what I always say!
No, really, for more than 40 years I have always started the Nugent family ThanXgiving celebration sometime in early October, far, far ahead of the calendar stymied crowd.
Something powerfully spiritual comes over me each October as my beloved deerseason kicks in each mystical fall, realizing with every ounce of my being that this natural season of harvesting God’s life giving renewable resources is to never be taken for granted.
And indeed I do celebrate genuine appreciation for all that life has to offer like I mean it 365 days a year, for there is so much to be thankful for.
I thank God for the precious gift of life itself. How I feed my sacred temple is a prayer of respect and thanks unto itself, actions much more powerful than mere words.
I give thanks for being born an American, for all must know that God indeed wanted man to be free and He guided us by His divine hand to demand this sacred experiment in self- government.
I am immeasurably thankful for the unique American freedom we enjoy each and every day.
I give sincere thanks daily for my incredible family and fellow human beings that prove constantly that we are created in His image and likeness.
I give thanks for my health and the health of my family and friends and the love and generosity we bestow on our less fortunate brethren.
I am extremely thankful for all the hard working Americans that make life so enjoyable with all their indefatigable hard work, sacrifices and amazing productivity that provide every imaginable product, technology and service any human could ever want.
I thank God that I was born to my wonderful, loving parents who guided and disciplined me on this incredible True North journey of life.
I give thanks daily for the wonderment of the miracle of nature with all the fascinating critters and miraculous wonderment that it provides.
I am over the rainbow thankful for the mighty whitetail deer that seems to possess my reasoning predator spirit throughout the year.
I thank God that I was able to share very special campfires with my hero and friend Fred Bear and so many other Spirit BloodBrothers.
I give thanks that I have been blessed with 67 opening days so far and the mental, physical and spiritual fortification they provide.
I am thankful for a lifetime with my beloved dogs.
On bended knee I give thanks for the special human beings in the US Military and law enforcement that sacrifice and fight the good fight every day for us.
I am thankful for the gift of music and the definitive connection it represents to so many.
I give thanks for indoor plumbing, thermostats, woodstoves, hot showers, warm beds and electricity when and where I need them.
Happy ThanXgiving everyday America. Eat turkey, venison, fowl, candied yams, buttery smashed potatoes, brown-sugar saturated squash and pumpkin pie buried in whipped cream like you mean it. Then get back out there in your deerstand and celebrate with every fiber of your deerhunting humanity.
