Have you ever had the good fortune to be able to fly over all 50 of our beloved United States in a small airplane with a clear, unobstructed eagle’s eye view of this phenomenal place we call America? For many, many years, I have, and am compelled to share with my fellow deeranddeerhunting.com backstrap BloodBrothers the stunning heartwarming glory of what I see.
It is a very big picture, and we should never lose sight of the big picture.
And you know what I see? I see you, the American deerhunter and the incredible soulful connection we celebrate with the good mother earth and all of God’s miraculous creation all across the hinterland from sea to shining sea.
I see the vast agriculture work ethic that feeds humankind and the proud land stewardship of the American farmer and rancher in stunning detail.
I see every glowing field and every mountainside edge with a deerblind and usually a deerfeeder nearby.
I gaze upon deerhunters’ camps, cabins and lodges both big and small that represent the ultimate retreat for millions and millions of families.
I see the trails of game migrations and hunters’ migrations in and out of the bountiful habitat in private hands where deer, elk, pronghorn, moose, bison, bear, lion, wild sheep, mountain goats, turkey, ducks and geese and bountiful smallgame thrive and flourish.
What I see further confirms the proud self-evident truth that my lifetime as an American hunter, fisher and trapper has known all along and promoted and celebrated all my life with every fiber of my soul and every beat of my heart; that we as hunters, fishers and trappers truly cherish, demand and intensely manage and finance a healthy, balanced environment that produces the strongest game populations in recorded history and the resultant quality air, soil and water for all living things that is produced from this sacred habitat we invest immeasurable sweat equity and hard earned private dollars in beyond anyone’s imagination.
I see a proud outdoor heritage as old as mankind that cares deeply about the precious renewable natural resources that provide us life and everything that goes with it.
Every state glows with the natural footprint of the hunting families in this great nation, and it is a positive, beneficial footprint for all living things and an overall quality of life that begins with nature and ends with nature.
In amongst this vast, endless wildness I also see the huge cities where we and our fellow Americans live, work and play, all benefitting directly from our outdoor heritage efforts to counterbalance the paving of huge segments of land.
I see the beautiful flowing rivers, shining lakes and marshes and swamps that give us the essential waters of life.
I see eternal forests of towering trees of every imaginable species as far as the eyes can see with more quality board-feet of lumber than ever in recorded history for building our homes and every possible use for eternity.
I am so very happy to see a healthy future of healthy wildlife and healthy wild ground as this perfect hands-on conservation lifestyle is passed on to future generations that revere our natural tooth, fang and claw responsibilities and duties.
Life and death. Fun, sport, meat, trophy. Carryon my American BloodBrothers. Thank you and carryon. We are truly doing God’s work. Keep it up.
