A New Dawn For American Sporters

Today will be my 68th January 19. And what a glorious one I predict! I carpe diem like I mean it every day, celebrating and milking to the max every breath I take, every move I make, every step I take, every arrow I fling, but when the winter deerseason is still on, my every day explodes with the wonderment of reasoning predator ambush dreams and critter encounters to cleanse the soul.

I figure if I continue to take good care of myself, I ought to be able to wrangle another 30 or so opening days and hunting seasons out of this adventure called life. I assure you, I’m on it!

This January 19 is even more special. I believe historically special.

Ted NugentSince we all know that it is politics here in this glorious American experiment in self-government that determines our every way of life, particularly our hunting way of life, I am firmly convinced that there is no better time in history than 2017 and beyond.

Today is the night before the 2017 presidential inauguration of Donald J. Trump. Tomorrow, glory, glory hallelujah, American sporters will finally have a friend in the White House, a friend in the driver’s seat of conservation, a man who best understands and respects our hunting lifestyle.

With two sons who love to hunt at his side and with his ear, I believe that President Trump will be open to the science and logic that has produced the greatest wildlife rehabilitation success story in the history of the natural world.

It was working hard playing hard America and the American hunter that broke loose from the liberal democrat destructo derby to elect Trump and it will take this vast army of we the people activists to keep Trump, his administration and all our elected employees on course to make America great again.

Our hunting rights are determined by politics, pure and simple. And like all the raging problems plaguing America these days, the remedy is also pure and simple. We the people need to get back in the saddle of raising hell like real Americans are supposed to.

Do you know anybody who believes the government can tell us we can’t hunt on Sundays during the hunting season?

Do you know anybody that thinks the government can claim the number one game bird on earth can be designated a songbird in a particular state?

Do you know anyone who believes that government bureaucrats can violate their oath to the US Constitution and infringe on our right to keep and bear arms?

Do you know anyone who believes that laws forcing us to have our bows and guns in cases benefits anybody?

Do you know anyone who believes the government can waste tax dollars using bait and hounds to hunt lion and bear while making it illegal for we the people who own these resources?

Yowza! Ted Nugent with a nice buck!
Yowza! Ted Nugent with a nice buck!

Do you know anyone who believes hiring “sharpshooters” to kill our deer in areas where we are not allowed to hunt them is OK?

Do you know anyone who believes that emergency waterfowl hunting regulations created during the 1937 dust bowl drought make any sense 80 years later?

Do you know anyone who believes government bureaucrats can better determine when our children are ready to hunt than we can?

Can you imagine anyone attempting to explain why spilling grain to feed wildlife should be illegal when wildlife nationwide sustains itself on spilled grain?

Can you imagine the depth of dishonesty when the government’s official position is that black bears must be controlled by the Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species when there are more black bears in the world than ever in recorded history?

Will we continue to allow our game departments that we pay for to consider the insanity of animal rights freaks when making game laws?

All hunters who are not sound asleep know that we are plagued with way too many bizzarro laws and regulations that have nothing to do with safety or wildlife management. Many of these laws and regulations are downright embarrassing and serve no legitimate purpose whatsoever other than creating opportunities for power abusers to harass us hunters.

It’s a new morning in America with President Donald Trump. This phenomenal experiment in self-government is indeed a participatory duty by all good Americans. Trump can accomplish anything good without us pushing hard at his side.

Make it a point to communicate with your fellow sporters and unite to put pressure on your elected employees to make your state great again so together we can make America great again. Now is the time.
