Rain, sleet or snow, or even a heatwave, can’t stop the rut. D&DH producer Lonnie Garland and host Mark Kayser set out on a quest for a Kansas giant. For five days the duo put Kayser’s mentality and Mathews No Cam to the test with temperatures reaching nearly 80 degrees, but the rut couldn’t be stopped.

With help from Kayser’s great friends Greg and Kenny, and their trail cameras, Kayser tagged out on this brute of a buck late in the hunt. The Nikon rangefinder-confirmed shot was 23 yards with a Carbon Express arrow and G5 broadhead.

Garland and Kayser are moving on to South Dakota to try for another whitetail and another great D&DH episode.
