Ted Nugent on Deer & Deer Hunting

The Spirit of the Wild Connection

Uncle Ted is still going strong and will be touring the country this summer meeting fans and grinding on his famous guitars. He'll have his bow with him, of course, because archery's in his blood.

OK already, I admit it; I am one crazy, lucky guy! I not only admit it, I wallow in it and celebrate it every day of my life as I thank God that I was raised by two loving hardcore disciplinarian parents that demanded I mind my Ps and Qs and always be the best that I can be in everything I do.

Aim small miss small is supposed to be a quality of life guiding force in allthings worthwhile!

There’s abstract luck and then there is engineered good fortune, and I continue to have a decent dose of each in my daily life due to smart decisions, accountable prioritizations and the undying support of an amazing family and loyal friends.

BloodBrothers!

No man is an island but I certainly qualify as part of one hell of a great human archipelago. We stand together, we live together, we love together and we hunt together.

Now that’s what I call super good luck!

Yowza! It's hard to beat a great bow, a cool buck and November! In the off-season, however, practicing every day will help you be ready when the swamp donkey walks into range.

This past weekend I took part in the 40th anniversary Dallas International Guitar Festival where I was humbled and inspired to sign autographs and shake hands and share American Dream stories with thousands and thousands of wonderful families.

I spent 9 hours doing so on Saturday and five more on Sunday, and the reason I deem this subject matter worthy of a Ted Nugent deeranddeerhunting.com NugeBlog is due to the unprecedented gift and opportunity that I am blessed with to connect with so many fellow humans at so many public events for the past fifty years.

And what does a guitar festival have to do with deer and deer hunting you might ask?

A loud and proud undeniable resonating EVERYTHING! That’s what!

Sure it was all about guitars and music and my insane fifty plus year over the top ultra-lucky musical career, but what qualifies such an experience for the pages of deeranddeerhunting.com is the fact that within the ranks of the young boys and girls, millennials, generation X’rs, moms and dads, grandma’s and grandpa’s that were there to celebrate guitars and music, the subject of guns, ammo, bows, arrows, hunting, fishing, trapping, wildlife, backstraps, conservation and our incredible Spirit of the Wild outdoor lifestyle was constantly brought up and passionately talked about just as often as guitars and music.

If you don’t find that fascinating and wonderful, I am here to tell you that you darn sure should.

Our hunting lifestyle is not a scorned, alternative, out of the ordinary lifestyle. It is an accepted, admired, even celebrated and often praised basic human lifestyle that has simply been viciously lied about and intentionally and dishonestly misrepresented in nearly all media and pretty much all academia.

Some of Ted's loves include his guitars, amps and dogs!

Gungho rock-n-roll fans from every state in America, every Canadian province, Norway, Germany, Ireland, Japan, England, Scotland, Puerto Rico, Belgium, France, Spain, Australia, Sweden, Switzerland and Portugal all wanted to know all about my hunting life, archery and how it influenced my music.

Many from around the world were eager to tell me how they became archers and or hunters because of my songs, writings, social media, interviews and by watching our Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild TV show on public broadcasting and Outdoor Channel for more than 27 years.

It was also often repeated how I steered them to live a clean and sober life in the world of rock-n-roll!

If that doesn’t make me lucky I don’t know what does.

The genuine positive spirit and energy shared between me and each and every person all weekend was an incredibly powerful confirmation and reminder that in the real world, where real people are caring, smart, tuned in and decent, even in what would mistakenly be presumed the polar opposite world of rock-n-roll, good people are very much in support of killing and grilling our own food from God’s miraculous, bountiful, renewable wildlife pantry.

In fact other than Stranglehold and Cat Scratch Fever, the only song mentioned more often was Fred Bear.

Listen to the song:

I was told by the show manager, that among the more than 600 exhibits at the event, my booth had more people standing in line than all other booths combined at any given moment.

See, I told you I was crazy lucky! The WhackMaster lives and he dearly appreciates the celebration of self-evident truth, logic, commonsense and God’s perfect tooth, fang and claw nature reality.

So feel lucky with me knowing that even in the wild and crazy world of rock-n-roll, we have legions of intelligent, educated BloodBrothers that support us and stand with us. We are very lucky that so many people are smart enough to ignore the nasty scourge of political correctness when it comes to the hunting lifestyle and venison.

Lucky is as lucky does.

With more than 40 million albums sold, rock legend Ted Nugent is equally well known as the nation’s most outspoken proponent of our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights, conducting thousands of pro-gun, pro-freedom, pro-American interviews in major media worldwide. Nugent is a New York Times best-selling author whose works include “Ted, White & Blue —The Nugent Manifesto;” “God, Guns & Rock ‘n’ Roll” and “Kill It & Grill It.” This year, his award-winning Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild TV show celebrates its 500th episode!  For allthings Nuge, visit www.tednugent.com
