Communication is everything. Our quality of life pivots on the simple two letters; P and R.
What PR stands for is “public relations” and is best reduced to the ultra-simplicity of relating to the public.
Beyond God, family and country, relating to the public pretty much covers everything important in life. As hunters we must seriously ask ourselves; how do we relate to the public?
Everyone paying attention is well aware of the raging culture war going on all these decades for the very soul of America. Our traditional values, the very values that make America the dream destination for honest dreamers everywhere that know individual freedoms are uniquely American, have been under attack by a weird cult of America haters for more than fifty years.
The tip of the culture war spear by all honest considerations has always been our individual right to keep and bear arms and our God given natural right to hunt. If the left had their way, owning guns and hunting would already be against the law. Know it.
I ran into this insanity way back in the 1960s when rock-n-roll hippie “journalists” attacked and condemned me for carrying a gun and “murdering bambi.” Go figure.
To be against self-defense and the scientifically perfect sustain yield conservation of pure, organic, renewable protein can only be the outcome of ingesting massive quantities of mind altering chemicals or a seriously terminal case of brain cell deficiency.
But instead of going on the defensive, I merely took advantage of the media time that my haters provided me to explain, celebrate and promote the simple science of the annual hunting seasons and the self-evident truth behind our Constitutionally guaranteed God given individual right to keep and bear arms.
I related to the public, a very smart and basically well-educated public, the overwhelming logic and commonsense behind these two fundamental truisms of life.
One does not need to defend the right to keep and bear arms or our wonderful, natural hunting heritage. Rather, focus on the believable premise that our lives are not only worth defending, but everyone with an ounce of soul and sense knows we have a moral obligation to defend our precious gift of life.
I also figured out right away that the dumbing down of America via an increasingly failed so called education system that teaches nothing about hunting, fishing, trapping, chores, the pride of manual labor and most important things in life, was at the core of confusion regarding God’s miraculous tooth, fang and claw creation. I am convinced you can count on one hand the times habitat carrying capacity was ever mentioned in K through 12!
The jury is not still out, for the tsunami of evidence in my life is a whirlwind of confidence building certainty that a genuine, no holds barred, down and dirty, raw, honest to God politically correct smashing passionate and relentless articulation of hunting wins over the masses everytime, including not only some fence sitters who had never heard these natural laws before, but also some die hard animal rights freaks that had allowed themselves to be brainwashed by a runaway leftwing liberal global academia, media and government goons.
“Whack em & stack em!” was merely a cute, street smart way of articulating the proven science of sustain yield in a fun way. Just like “kill em & grill em!”
These catchy phrases have become embraced colloquialisms around the world, and their ultimate accomplishment is in the fact that they both have to do with our cherished annual slaughter of nourishing, delicious, renewable, hard earnedvenison!
The vast majority of people everywhere grasp, understand and instantly appreciate, more and more all the time, the important global role of renewable wildlife meat for the masses.
That unapologetic way of garnering the attention of young people and non-hunters around the world educated and turned on more non-hunters than anything all the conservation organizations had accomplished in totality for 100 years.
I won’t take up the space here to explain to the uninformed so dedicated to living under large, heavy rocks, but we have documented proof that I have gotten this enticing, upbeat PR to literally billions of people worldwide in a more than fifty year PR jihad.
Most recent evidence is that our Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild hosted by your humble MotorCity Madman WhackMaster and his stunning Queen of the Forest bride have once again won the #1 viewer’s choice award on Outdoor Channel, running 27 years strong.
I know there are some out there that resist this information, but that’s how life goes.
Sometimes you give the world the best you got and get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you got anyway.
Ultimately, how we carry ourselves in public, how polite we are, how friendly we are, how effectively we articulate the responsible annual harvest of our food and how we share it with many millions of family, friends, neighbors and charities, is the ultimate way to relate to the public how pure and beneficial hunting is all around.
Be sure you always feature and celebrate the venison aspect of our hunting lifestyle and we will continue to garner support for this perfect conservation and environmentalism way of life.
Whack em & stack and kill em & grill em like you mean it. And thank you for making Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild #1 again. BloodBrothers ROCK!
