If you’re glad summer is coming so you can shoot your muzzleloaders and get ready for deer season, veteran big game hunter Chad Schearer of Montana knows exactly how you feel!

Chad Schearer is one of the country’s top experts on muzzleloading. He was previously the owner and operator of Montana’s largest big-game outfitting business.

Schearer has traveled for years around the world hunting whitetails, elk, antelope and African big game for his popular television show “Shoot Straight With Chad Schearer,” often with CVA muzzleloaders. But while Schearer loves smokepoles, he’s also keen on bows or rifles … whatever it takes to have a successful, fun hunt.

Schearer is a world champion elk caller and two-time Eastern U.S. elk calling champion. He is a licensed Montana professional outfitter and guide, as is his wife Marsha, and has been host or co-host of several television shows while also writing more than 700 hunting and fishing seminars throughout the United States. Schearer is past editor of Blackpowder Guns and Hunting magazine, has written several articles for major publications, and currently is director of media relations for CVA Muzzleloaders, PowerBelt Bullets, DuraSight, and Quake Industries.
