mgemmill, sorry for the delayed response.  The Federal 160 gr. Barnes shells work very well for me in the 7mm.  The 150gr. Remington Core-Lokts also work pretty well in the 7mm.  The .270 is more picky.  It only likes the 130 gr. Remington Core-Lokts and even that is not great.  I have always wondered if I damaged the .270 barrel.  When I was a kid, I didn't know to let the barrel cool and I can remember getting it pretty hot on occasion.
