They're all my favorites so I just can't choose!

For shear comfort and fit to me I would carry Baby, my customized rem 600 in 308 everyday of my life...but deer weapons?????  Diamond Liberty in bow and most of Gun Season...Encore 50 cal in some of primitive and a lot of gun...Black Betty the Browning A5 12ga during hound runs.....Baby whenevr I can ....often doubling up with any of the others for reach when needed....I do slip in a hunt or two with other 12's and bows and rifles but those are my fav's...

My Bow is my weapon of choice but of the ones that go boom... My Remington 1100 is my favorite. Was my dads passed on to me. Its over 30 yrs old with over 50 deer to its credit. Shes pretty banged up and not so pretty anymore but I love her! My second choice is my first shotgun, Mossberg 600 AT pump with a nice 3 by 9 on top. both have alot of sentimental value and really get the job done.

How many grains? Still tinkering with my Rem 760 in the .308.

40 grains of H4895  got me to around 2600 fps with the Hornady 165 grain SP.   However, if I were starting over again, I would be starting with the 150 grain bullet.  It just so happened that my Savage 99 wouldn't group 150's worth spit. I tried 165's as a fallback and they worked. 

H4895 works well, because of two things:

1)  It gives a consistent velocity in less-than-max loadings. 
2)  It is very easy on the shoulder.

I originally used Varget instead of H4895,  but switched.  I made the move several years ago to see if I could get down to a single rifle powder.  It made loading my rifles much cheaper to buy one powder in larger quantities. H4895 fuels all my deer rifles now.

My Marlin 30-30 using the Hornady 160 grain LeveRevolution bullet to extend my range out beyond 200 yards! Nice short rifle that is light, very accurate and easy to get through the woods with.
