What type of powder do you use in your muzzleloader
i use triple 7

Went to loose powder this year because of inconsistent groups with the pellets.  Using 110 grains of triple F triple 7 and my gun is 2" high at both 50 and 100 yards.

I`m currently shooting FFFG Triple 7, have always shot loose powder.
 
After this season I`m going to work up a new load for my Knight Disc Extreme with the new Black Horn 209 powder.

From my personal experience all I have to say is stay away from Jim Shockey's gold pellets!!! I have never seen a more inconsistant POS power in my life. Some of them would fall straight down the barrell while others I had to shove down there. Quality control of that stuff was a joke. I decided to try it because I heard it was cleaner but I couldn't get it to group with 100 grains for the life of me. Went back to my Pyrodex and grouped fine. After I did some research I found others had the same problems as I did with the Shockey's Gold pellets.

Jim Shockey's gold in loose powder 90 grains, with a hornaday 240 grain XTP bullet.

At the range, this combo works very well. Never shot a deer with it, but heard good things about this bullet.

As for the Jim Shockey's gold, I got excellent burn with the loose powder, and clean-up was a snap!
