I had a couple pellet guns stolen from my garage on the 4th of July . I went to Dick's sporting Goods Store and bought a .177 Crossman G1 Xtreme Break Barrel Air Rifle Kit . I put the 3X9 AO scope on it then went out on the deck to sight it in , in the back yard . Put up a target , added a pellet , aimed and fired . Holy kee-rap ! It sounded like a 22 going off . I quickly got the gun in the house and took down the target . I wasn't expecting anything "LOUD" ! [8|]...[8|]
It's an awesome air rifle that shoots about 1000 fps and has an adjustable trigger .

A bit late for that . The Crossman was on sale from $120 to $100 . I had a $15 coupon and bought it . I'll wait for the Cummings Tool people to come around again and buy another one of theirs for $20 and get another 4Xscope for $6.50 . Toses rifles only have a 550 fps velocity but are quiet and will drop squirrels and chipmonks . Thanks .......

I have a crossman 2100 classic, I really like it.  It's fun to fool around with.  I think it shoots about 750 fps, plenty for what I use for.

I was told that the newer BB/Pellet Guns were pretty loud....I guess since they are so powerful and fast they tend to make a little more noise?My question about Your new Gun is is it very accurate or did you not get to shoot it very much since I'm assuming your located in town and was afraid to shoot it very much and draw attention? mines not to loud, it was the blackbird that fell in front of the nieghbor while he was mowing that done me in.[:D]

I have only shot it once , so far . Someone sent me an email and suggested getting a lawn mower muffler , drilling a hole through the center and attaching it to the barrel .......

I  bought one that wal mart had on sell it shoots 1000fps and I went to a air gun forum and asked how to quieten it and they said after about 1000 pellets the barrel will get broken in and it will quiet down
