He and the now democratically controlled system will most certainly try.
As of last night you now live in a socialist country. More of your money will be systematically taken from you and given to those who can't or choose not to work for any. More of your freedoms will be eroded "for your own good" As time goes on, you will be less inclined to work harder because they will just want to take more of it away from you. And so you will become more like the people who choose not to work. At 17 you have no memory of what things were like and so you will accept this way of life easier than I will. If you want guns, buy them NOW. Borrow the money if you have to. If possible, buy used guns privately so they can more likely remain yours.

If Obama makes taking guns away from us a main priority we are in trouble, he has quite a few other things that are more important than that he needs to take care of first. I don't think he is this terrible/ "the us is is now over" guy that most everyone is making him out to be. If you are really worried about it, like Squirrelhawker said buy them now if you think you have something to worry about, but for me it's not something i'm going to worry about anytime soon, i think we will be just fine in that area.

Like Demoderby said, there are much bigger issues at hand right now. Will we see more gun laws, I dont doubt it. Will "all of our guns" be takin away from us, That, I do doubt. Maybe "I'm" being naive, but, I dont think so. I think all we can do at this point, is sit back and see where this goes. If Obama is as bad as some say he is, then I guess were all headed down the shitter, if "they" are wrong about him(and I really hope there are), then maybe he can pull us out of the slump we seem to fallen into. I know some (or alot) of you dont agree with me here, thats ok, we are all entilted to our own opinion. I did not vote for Obama, do I support him, well, lets see what his "plans" are for us, and then I'll decide whether or not I support him. One last thing, we as hunters, shooters, and sportsman(and women), need to stand together! Whether we agree with each others political veiws or not, we need to not fight amongst ourselves! there are too many folks out there already we want to see us fall, by dividing the ranks, we only make ourselves easier to be conquered!! As a nation, and as sportsman, we need to stand together because, divided we fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In all reality, he won't.  If the senate had super majority like they did back in the Days of good ole' Carter I'd be extremely worried for other fellow hunters.  I for one, do not use semi auto guns or whatever else, I do have a side arm though.  Just because I don't use weapons that are on their hit list, does not mean I won't fight for those who have those weapons and legally use them (keep in mind, it only takes 1 person to screw it up, so the best thing you can do is help educate those about the guns). 


As seen on CNN last night.  Over 66% of the voters voted the way they did because of the economy.  A lot of people don't really understand why we are in this economic crisis.  It's sad, but back in 1977 when the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) was created, that was the start of this mess.  It was just a matter of time, and 8 years of someone trying to get people out there to do things on their own unfortunately hurt those that were used to free hand outs from the previous 8 years, and the Avalanche began.  Don't worry about getting your tax cuts, that's not going to happen while Obama is president.  If anything, they will be raised, once the economy stabilizes, like he said in his victory speech last night .  I thought his big thing was tax cuts for the working families??? 

He blames it all on Bush, and that's easy for some to see, because they think that things happen instantly.  Whoever was in control when it happened, HAS to be at fault, right?  Not this time my friends.  We put too much faith in people that they will be honest, and do their part, by giving them a head start, or things to get started with.  It promotes laziness, and unfortunately is not the way the people work.  You have to have some sort of motivation to get the ball rolling, it's not up to the government to give you things because you don't work for them. 


It's going to be at least 4 years of people fighting hard for their rights for specific guns.  Don't give up, like I said, educate people as much as you can.  They see people killing people in big cities, and guns associated with that.  Keep in mind, most of those big cities are where the votes came from for Obama.  Regardless of race.  This is why I always try to do what I can when I am in the woods.  To not give hunters a bad name.  Paying attention to my shot, and whats beyond it.  Not being a jerk about certain things towards other hunters in the field.  Most importantly asking permission, and conducting myself in a manner that is respectible.  Don't give people a reason to think that guns should be banned, show them how they can be and are extremely beneficial.  America has a short term memory.

I dont have any idea what He'll do when he becomes Pres., but do know that I'm going to spend as much time in the woods as I can. I'm going to enjoy every moment and not worry about it for a couple months, cause I'm tired of it.

The recent past is the best indicator of the short-term future. If you view obama`s voting record in the Illinois Senate, which is spotty at best, he consistently voted anti-gun. It`s been bullet pointed here in other forums I think, but he`s voted to allow one gun a month purchases, to outlaw all semi-auto firearms, to make many popular hunting calibers of ammo illegal, to leave lawful firearms manufacturers open to frivolous lawsuits, to re-enact the , so called "Assault weapons ban", and has stated he doesn`t believe anyone should concealed carry.

His party now has a majority in both the House and Senate, but wasn`t able to acheive the so called "Super Majority", which is the only thing even close to a break we caught as all the sheep voted.

Something else that hasn`t been discussed here, but not very long ago, the united nations held a conference with the topic of civilian ownership of small arms globally. The aim of the organization is to ban civillian ownership across the board, no exceptions. President Bush basically told them the same thing he told France and Germany about the Iraq war, which was, piss off. I don`t know international law, but I`ve been told, that all that would have to happen for this treaty to override our Second Amendment is for a sitting US President to ratify it. That President may well be about to take the White House.

These are perilious times for American gun owners, but some just can`t see.
