Savage 210 slug

Need to get a new slug gun.  I'm interested in the Savage 210 bolt action slug.  Does anyone out there have any experience with the gun.  I like the idea of a bolt action slug gun and hope that it will out perform a rifled shotgun for accuracy.
Comments and experiences would be appreciated.

Check out this link, I asked a similiar question a while back. Beagleman23 seem to know the gun very well, and had some great input about the gun.

I had a bolt action 12 ga rifled slug gun(used) in my hands today.  It was a Browning with a wood stock(some marks) and rifled sights.

Hello, new to the forum, but not to slug guns. I live in Delaware where we have to use slugs only, I owned a Mossberg 695 bolt action slug gun. It was accurate but kicked like a mule. I traded it for a H&R ultra slug in 20 ga. It was the best $/trade, i have ever spent. The gun is accurate to 200yds , if u practice. I bought the 12 ga model the next year and love it also. They now have them with a thumbhole model that i want in the worst way!! I have a 3x9x40 Swift on the 20 and a 3x9x40 Bushnell Dusk to Dawn on the 12. They both shoot 2.75 Lightfields the best, have taken many deer with both.

My dad had/I have a Marlin 512 bolt slug gun. It's a killer. The stock is as shapely as a telephone pole, but man does it shoot well. I had a 12 gauge barrel for my Encore Pro-Hunter, and it shot pretty nice. I think on both of these guns, they are shooting as well as factory slugs can shoot. They legalized other implements of death here, so I no longer have the Encore, or shoot the Marlin. There is a Savage 210 and a H&R for sale on another site I visit. I had the 210, great shooter. Worked best with Remmington copper solids. My nephew shoots it now and continues to awe people at the range with its distance and accuracy, good gun for the price. I now shoot T/C Pro hunter, just as accurate with Hornady sabots, little shorter because of lack of a bolt, doesn't feel quite as bulky. Both good guns  for shooting slugs! LONLON

lonlon, how do you like your TC Pro Hunter?  I'm thinking of getting one myself, but am totally new muzzleloader hunting.  Pretty easy to shoot, etc?  Also, what would you say is a fair price for one?  I see they are fairly spendy, and I'm not one to make quick purchases.  Thanks for your help ahead of time!
