My favorite rifle is one my dad gave me because I couldn't afford one at the time and he was tired of loaning me his guns. It is one he built for 1000 yard shooting, but the caliber just wasn't up to it back in the mid 90's. It is built on an old Mauser K98 action in 7mm Remington Magnum. It is blued and he even gave me a nice scope for it that he got for a steal on ebay. He had it in a left handed thumbhole stock, but since I am a righty, he put it in a beautiful laminate stock that matches the blueing perfectly. He has plenty of other guns from scatterguns to rifles and pistols that I will inherit when he is gone, but my 7mag is the most beautiful gun I have ever seen. It is and always will be my most prized posession. I hope to have a son that I can pass it down to one day.
I also took my first deer ever with this rifle last week.
