Mathews Z7

Anyone have this bow or had an opportunity to shoot it?  Just curious as to what your experience was.  I'll be in the market for a new bow next season and was looking at the new Bowtech Destroyer originally.  I got my hands on one and the draw cycle is rough.  The Z7 looks very interesting and has all the features I'm looking for, and reasonably priced compared to the destroyer.

My buddy just bought one yesterday, He said the thing draws like a dream, I haven't shot one myself so that's all I have for ya. I would like to shoot one of the new Hoyt's [:D]

Deano, I shot the Destroyer 340 & thought it shot like a dream. It was very quiet & had no hand shock, but still had plenty of speed. I guess if you're used to a solo cam bow, it may feel a little different. At the bow shop I go to, the Destroyer isn't hanging on the rack long enough to settle in before it's out the door.

Thanks for the feedback fellas.  Bowtechian, don't get me wrong I love the bowtech bows and own an older VFT which is a single cam bow.  so in comparison to that the draw cycle on the 350 seemed a bit rough to me.  I also had my eye on th 82nd Airborne but its a rather long bow axis to axis and I prefer a shorter bow.  The Z7 seems to offer the smaller axis to axis without compromising the riser height.  I will definitely shoot them both when I get a chance.

Well I finally got around to shooting the Z7 and the Hoyt...both shot nice but the Z7 was smooth as silk.  When all was said and done I put down a deposit and was told it would be in, in a week.  My hat goes off to Mike at A&M Archery in Lakewood, NJ.  He was a pleasure to deal with, was paitent, answered all my questions, gave me his own opinions but never tried to push me one way or the other.To top it off he will set aside two hours when the bow comes in to tweak it, watch me shoot, and ensure it is tuned properly.  Thanks Mike!

Hey Deano I was just wondering how the Z7 was treating ya? I also looked long and hard at the Z7 but wound up with the Reezen. Both shot about identical but the Z did have a little smoother draw. I chose the Reezen because I liked the looks of it better than the grid lock riser of the Z. Either way I would have been happy.
