That is hilarious.  It's obvious that its someone's pet and they were smart enough to put a blaze orange vest on it.  Just think if the guys wouldn't of had a video camera, nobody would have believed them.

They are so cute and fun to be around at that age. But a buck as a pet is not good. Many years ago in this small town in Mich. there was a pet deer that people used to feed. It was a buck and it used to go house to house looking for handouts. Some one used to put a red bow around it's neck during hunting season. Several years went by and he developed a nice set of antlers, and pinned someone against a tree and hurt the person. Local C.O. had to kill it.

I knew of a buck that had been injured by a hay mower as a days-old fawn at the gun club a friend of mine belonged to outside of Houston, Tx in the 1970's. One of the members brought the buck home and nursed him back to health. The man built an 8 foot tall wood fence around the back of his entire (large) yard so the deer would have privacy and wouldn't be harassed by dogs. The buck's leg injury prevented him from jumping out of the fence. By his fourth year, the buck had matured and grown a substantial rack. They put a "Beware of Dog" sign on the gate, but crossed out Dog & put Deer instead. All of the neighbors knew and visited with the buck regularly (my friend from the gun club visited often too is how I know this). The regular meter reader knew to go to the front door of the house and the property owner would escort him to do his job. That Fall, when that meter reader was on vacation, the fill-in ignored the sign and went in the back yard alone. The rutting buck caught the substitute meter reader up against the fence and roughed him badly, breaking a few ribs and puncturing a lung. The homeowner heard the commotion and chased the deer off the meter reader, then called an ambulance for the guy.

The homeowner was required to put a lock on the gate at all times. The meter reader had ignored his written instructions not to go through the gate and could not claim neglegence by the homeowner. I'll bet he never ignored instructions like that again. Far as I know the deer was allowed to live out his life there.
