stubby antlers

Postby reclar » Thu Dec 22, 2011 1:01 pm

Hunting this November I took a 8 point buck. On closer examination of the animal I found all the points on the buck to be stubbed off 1 to 2". They were not broken but appeared to be formed that way during velvet as they were all healed over on the ends. Shorten by disease or a condition of the animal? I have seen other hunters game camera pictures of the same condition on different bucks. Does anyone know what the cause is?
