We've been planting food plots for several years now and I'm really enjoying our clover plots more and more. Alot more bang for you buck and deer eat it almost year round.
Depending on how well it grows for you, but I'm almost sure you'll want to mow it at least once this year. It'll probably be pretty tall before your deer seasons open and you want the new growth to be available when you plan on hunting it the most. Our first frost of the year up nort here is middle to late september so I'll usually mow it end of august or early september so it has a good two or three weeks to grow before our first frost hits. If you plan on hunting it earlier, early bow season, I'd mow it two weeks before your going to hunt it. Don't be afraid to fertilize it a few weeks before you plan on hunting it either. Good Luck!
