Thanks for the input. The farm I hunt has a large, old "yellow" apple tree that is pretty productive but I have yet to see the deer touch one of them. I have eaten them and they seem fine to me!! As I said I said I looked at the Morse nursery website and was intrigued by the crabapple selection. They claim to have only one interest and that is to attract wildlife, primarily deer. They also point out the crabs that are good polinaters. I'm thinking about a crab in the mix for that aspect alone. Our food plots are effective and they're alongside crop fields like corn, beans, and alfalfa but I look at it this way, the bigger the buffet, the more deer will show up.
