Planting Peas without a drill

Anyone try planting peas but didn't have, or use a drill? I don't have a drill, and am thinking of putting 1/2 acre of peas in by my 2 acres of turnips and rape. Hoping the peas will draw them in and the t/r will hold them. My only "planting tool" is a pull behind a lawnmower dethatcher. I used that to cover my other seeds.

This is just what happened to me....may have done something wrong and or I need to do more squirrel(sp? does'nt look right...lol) and turkey hunting...any how disced the peas in after walking spreader around....it rained ..then peas reappeared on surface ...then magically into little piles...within a week all peas were gone...10#'s and not a single plant...and the ones I saw were starting to sprout....Good luck
