I have to say I've done many a plot with a tilland made my 180 x80 foot garden with one as well....there is a method I use that is abit longer at first cuts time in long run and won't kill you or tiller
1. spray with weed killer
2. set tines on highest ...so your just scraping off the dead stuff
3. rake that and the rocks you picked up(the big ones)
4. lower the tines a notch or two...you'll know and till in opposite direction....take out any big rocks
5. if your liming...do it now...lower tines once more repeat...pick big rocks and then drag
