I have done that too PastorZig,it makes a big difference in how much the Deer will use a clean easy trail and it only has to be back off a little ways from say an open area or field and if its a trail/path You use to get to Your stand it will help You slip in quietly and keep your scent off any brush,weeds or tree limbs.We have several logging road pathes and the Deer use them a lot,I usually keep them cleared off and even plant/frost-seed some clover for the Deer and Wildlife to use and to draw them in closer for a shot.
