My Food Plot in!

Postby MZS » Wed Aug 10, 2011 12:52 pm

My new plot, after seeding, is below. After hitting with Roundup, I had this most of this area disked up by a large tractor a while back. It was pretty wet though and there were large clumps of clay. This sat in the weather a month or so, with a few extra treatments of Roundup as needed. Then, I busted up the somewhat weathered clumps of clay with an ATV disc - worked pretty nicely. Also, I did a small area with only the ATV disc - this seems to be the route to take with this heavy soil when it is wet. I would not want to tackle this heavy clay in drought conditions unless I had some heavy machinery - I doubt any ATV implement would put a dent in it. Got an inch of rain a few hours after planting :D and some nice sunny weather then next few days. One more light rain should bring most of this seed up.

Looks like a great plot, how is it growing.
