I have friends and family that run or ran dogs over the years.
I have not known many that did it sober, and the stories they have told me of how things have gone down........nope not for me either.
"Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you'll be able to see farther."
I've seen a lot of drinking go on as well. The thing that did it for me was watching a doe get ran for over four hours. When she finally staggered out in the road her tounge was hanging out and her heart was about to pound out of her chest. She was walking cause she just couldnt run anymore. A few minutes later the dogs caught her and chewed off one of her hams before they could be caught. I was discusted that these guys called themselves hunters.
That's sad. I'm not a fan of combining running dogs with deer hunting. But, this is legal in some states, and this is what some hunters have grown up doing, so I'm not knocking it. I just wouldn't do it. I'd rather sit in a tree, using my experience with the area let the deer come to me. JMO!
