Nikon 8463 SlugHunter 3 9 x 40mm BDC 200 Riflescope on a Remington 870?

I was wondering if a Nikon 8463 SlugHunter 3 9 x 40mm BDC 200 Riflescope would be able to go on a Remington 870 slug barrel? Or if anyone has any other recommendations. Thanks

About the only thing I can say is that you need to be thinking of the range you're going to be shooting that 870.  A 1.5-4.5x variable would easily get the average guy out to 100-150 yards.  I have 3-9X scopes mounted on a lot of my deer rifles, but my eyes are really, really bad.  The other option is a 4X fixed scope-- in that case you'd probably get better low-light performance.

I`m a Leupold guy.......so that`s what I would always recommend, but Nikon seems to make decent glass.....

Thats what I use. I bought a Remington 870 super slug and mounted the Nikon slughunter on it. I shot a ton of different slugs through it and the two that performed the best for me were the Remington Corelok's and the Winchester Partition Golds. some of the guys here HIGHLY recommended the Golds for thier ballistic capabilities so I stuck with those. I get very good groups out at 100 yards. You will be happy with that setup if that is the route you go with....
