I bring along a handheld yahtzee game and use it only when I am either dozing off, freezing cold or extremely bored on a slow day. In all these cases it keeps me on stand longer when those all day sits get challenging.

This is all well and good but in my example I work nights and I have a terrible time keeping myself awak on stand. I was guilty of sometimes dozing off for a half hour or more because I was very sleep deprived but still wanted to be in the woods. Ever since I picked up the $8 yahtzee game I have been able to stay away and keep my mind alert. I find myself only playing a hand or two once ever couple hours on my all day sits. It is simply a tool I use to keep my mind awake when my body is trying to force me to get some rest.
