One of the first trail timers (camera)

I was looking through my old equipment that I had bought. Found this "Trail Timer" deep in the bowels of my never used equipment. It used a string that was strung over a trail which would give a time of day when a deer broke the string. We have come a long way since then.
The advertising said "Hunts when you can't." "Tested, Proven and Endorsed By: Bob Foulkrod"

I have never seen one of those before, or even heard of one. So, does it actually take a picture or just give time and date ?

If you look at the bottom right of the unit, you can see the black string that is used to pull across a trail. When the string is broken the time and date is frozen on the screen. Every time that the string is broken, it has to be reset. Pretty archaic, but the alternative at the time was to sit and watch the trail yourself. First came out in 1985

Thats neat I've heard of those before but never seen one. Think I'll stick with cameras though.
