how many cam's to have?

Just a question that may have been addressed before. How many trail cams should a guy have?
I hunt 100 acres I only have 1 cam running right now and will add my buddies later this month. I was thinking of getting a few more, like 2.
That would make 1 cam/25acres would this be suffuicent to monitor the majority of game activity on that 100 acres?
I know I could have 1 on every tree but don't have the funds or the inclination to put out that many.

I'm running 4 right now and would still like to have more.  My buddy has 2 and some other friends have about 6 between them.... we run them all on our lease but the area is big enough we don't cover it all or anywhere close....I have gotten to the point that I like starting my cams around hunt spots on the 4th of July weekend and rolling through antler drop...it has become a part of my season that I wouldn't trade for anything.  To answer your question....as many as you want to run.  Just remember there are trade off to them.

We have 4 running on 50 acres right now but we will be spreading them out over 3 properties pretty soon.
Like mentioned above if your using a bait and camera for a census 1 per 50 or 100 acres is sufficient.
One nice thing about having a couple is that you can cover alot of ground without having to move the cameras all over and disturb everything, you get just set them out throughout the property and check them once in a while.

We now have 5 cameras on the land we hunt as I just bought another one last week. (new Cuddeback Capture) We have access to over 500 acres of land and have many choices of where to put a camera. In the future we will continue to get more to better monitor our property.

I was running 5 on 4 properties. BUT! with one being stolen and 2 old Moultries finally kicking the bucket, I'm down to 2.

We have 8 cameras.  Becomes very addicting. Be careful where you hang them and when you check them. As the summer goes on... less and less activity in your prime areas are a must.  You should have a real good handle on deer in the area by August 1.  I still like to scout with the spotting scope and video camera every night in July.  By now I have a fairly good idea on what is to be expected and will have a great idea by August 1.  Of course there is always a few that you don't see until later but that is a plus!
