Usually when I flash a deer, they just laugh and run away![:D][:D]

I'd guess more than deer would run away! [:D]

this one buck....didn't seem to be bothered by the flash.

There was a nice scrape near my stand.  The hunt was actually over so I went and put the camera on the tree in front of it.  Went back a couple of days later....this is what I saw.

I have over 1000 picutres of deer this year with my cam.  Most of them at night....flash...does not bother them.  Well....in my case.  I'm sure there are deer that are more skettish then other...but.

If you can live with the red tint and a little less flash distance, and it makes you more comfortable not spooking the deer so much, then by all means keep doing it. Kudos for trying something different.

With my homebrew white flash cameras i try to mount them up high on the tree and angle them down. 4 to 7 feet high if i can. It seems to spook them less. I guess they pass it off more as a lightning or headlights. At least it's not flashing in their face.
