We recently got a fawn and roasted it over the spit. Absolutely beautiful! Stuffed it with apples, onion, garlic, butter and rosemary. Wrapped it on bacon and marinated it in apple cider vinegar, garlic and rosemary. Then wrapped it is foil before putting on the spit. It's the first spit I've ever done but if they all turn out as great as this one was I'll be a lucky girl. The meat was so tender and juicy. I've seen so many people comment saying not to put a whole deer on the spit and that it'll be like jerky. Granted this was only a fawn, but it was so succulent and delicious I'm surprised more people haven't done it. I am sure you will love it, go for it and enjoy!
