FFKevin's Jack Daniel's Deer Marinade
Recipe courtesy Kevin Connell
½ cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
? cup soy sauce
¼ teaspoon of your favorite hot pepper sauce
1 cup water
½ cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey (*NOT OPTIONAL)
3 4 lbs of deer meat (steaks, back straps, tenderloins, whole loins, whatever you like
)
Mix everything except the meat in a gallon Ziploc bag, add the meat, and turn to coat.
Seal the bag and press out the excess air.
Put the bag in a shallow dish and refrigerate for 12 24 hours, turning occasionally. (The longer you can marinate it, the better!!!)
Remove the meat from the marinade and SAVE the marinade.
Grill the meat over a medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes for medium rare or until they are done as you like them.
To make a glaze sauce, pour reserved marinade into a sauce pan. Boil on med-high heat, until reduced by half. Add cornstarch to thicken. Put in gravy boat and serve with the meal.[/font]
