Thats mostly just a blood clot. The hole really isnt that big.
 
I could do a write-up on the rage now but i thought i would wait until tomorrow after i butcher him and can have a look at the wounds with the hide off.

Very nice deer!  The wind and snow that you guys got today and yesterday is hitting us tomorrow (WI).  Hopefully I'll have a pic like that to show this weekend!!!
