Tripods or Stand Alones

bowman12, i hear what you're saying on the tripods.  i'm looking for one at least 15 feet high...but would shell out almost $300 or better for just one.  strongbuilt seems to have the best ones but like you said, pricey!  telephone pole doesn't sound like too bad of an idea.  can any guy go out and get one of those from the county?

I've got two still in the box BIG DOG tripods 16 ft with blinds with roof that enclose the top,bought last year decided to stick with ladder stands and climber. I know were a ways apart but if interested e-mail or pm me, maybe work something out.

Buckhunter, check with your local electric coop. If we call and give them an advance notice they'll usually save some for us and may have some on hand. They charge us like $7 a pole. We've used them for bridges, tower stands, garden ties, they're really handy and last forever.

Just went to the site you listed since I'm also looking for a tripod stand. Most tripods that can be carried into the field cost $275 to $300. This 12' stand with shipping to VA came to $155.00 and I should have it here by Friday. Thanks for the information regarding this company. Can wait to be in the woods with it.
